Her birthday is on 29 March 1985 in Roswell, New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican American however she has an American nationality. The desire to be a sportsperson started as a young kid. Gerina started playing golf at the age of fifteen. Gerina graduated from high school through Goddard High School. She won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament at the age of high school. Also, she played volleyball at the state level. She was a student at in the University of Texas in 2003. While in her senior years she took home the top prize in every competition she entered. In her college career, she was awarded Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athlete Of The Year.
