Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents encouraged her parents, a dentist and teacher who were both teachers to follow her love of the theatre. This was in contrast her earlier ambition to pursue a career as a primateologist since she adored monkeys. Her rise to fame as an actor in the young age was quick and marked by her early successes. In 1998, after completing her studies, she was able to take part in Jeunes Premiers an French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The result was that she decided to pursue a professional career as an actor. Tautou, who attended the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there from the age of a child she has since renounced her Catholic education. Now, she claims to be a non-Catholic. In addition to her acting career she was also interested in modelling. The model was of L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". In addition to her acting career, she has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection images at the Arles Film Festival with the title Superficial. Her photographs concentrates on fame and the spotlight. The camera's focus is towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie won international acclai the box office and was acclaimed at awards ceremonies all over the world. It is the most successful French language film in the US. Later, in the same year, she was a part of British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. In the following year, she moved to Hollywood to work in Hollywood, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
