Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most acclaimed actors. She is known for playing strong characters but also at risk. Born to a well-known playwright's father but was raised by a single mom, who earned her living as a nurse, she was drawn to theatre when working with her father during the summer and eventually pursuing a degree in acting first as a student at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career after her graduation after which she made her television debut the following year. In the years since, she's been in numerous films as well as stage and television productions. Her achievements have been numerous throughout her career such as the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Her nominations include five Tony Awards and three Oscar Award nominations. But, in spite of her recognitions and awards, theatre is still her passion and she'll continue to play on stage and screen.
